S U M M A R Y

Multisetosa acerbus sp.n. is described from a snow vole Chionomys gud (Satunin, 1909) collected in the mountains of Southern Daghestan (Untsukul District), the Caucasus. The new species is similar to M. persicus Vercammen-Grandjean, Rohde et Mesghali, 1970, but differs in a greater value of most measurements (thus, Ip>1100 vs. Ip about 850 in M. persicus), greater number of dorsal, ventral and post-posterolateral setae (DS=185 vs. 156; VS=124 vs. 76; PPL=3—5 pairs vs. 1—2 pairs in M. persicus) and absence of short basal cilia on sensilla. All type specimens are preserved in the Zoological Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
